I’m incredibly honoured that “All The Bridges” was named as one of the albums of 2016 by Paul Gough from The Inside Sleeve on ABC RN. I’m also honoured that one of the shows from the “All The Bridges” Australian launch tour was recorded at our beloved Caravan Music Club and featured on RN’s The Live Set a few weeks ago. Both of these programs have been champions of my work for many years now. They have supported and shone light on a huge array of Australian music, including that of many of my musical peers and friends. I, personally, have made incredible discoveries through the following Radio National music programs: The Inside Sleeve, The Daily Planet, The Rhythm Divine & The Live Set. Under recently announced cuts, the ABC plans to decommission all of these programs, effective as of 2017. As Australia, and the world, finds itself on the verge of significant cultural and social change, it’s even more important that our vibrant musical culture is given every opportunity to continue to connect us and to keep the vital lines of communication between Australians, of every background and from every corner of the country, open. These are not just significant cuts for musicians, festivals and venues. They threaten to deny us, as Australian constituents, a platform for discussion and cultural sharing and exchange. This is big. This is our national broadcaster. Please sign the petition let the ABC know that we’re serious. #saveRNmusic.
